Meet Shafeen Farooq, a counsellor at Muslim Therapy Network. She uses an integrative approach, drawing on Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), and Transpersonal Psychology to tailor therapy to each client’s needs and pace.

Shafeen’s work is grounded in creating a safe, non-judgemental space where a trusting therapeutic relationship can develop. For clients wishing to explore spiritual, religious, or cultural experiences, she incorporates Transpersonal Psychology to support deeper self-understanding and meaning.

Her approach helps clients challenge negative thought patterns, build self-esteem, and overcome personal, societal, and cultural barriers. Sessions focus on recognising strengths, improving emotional wellbeing, and developing practical tools for ongoing growth.
